The Northern California Bluegrass Society Walker Creek Music Camp Scholarship Fund Makes Spring Awards

The NCBS Walker Creek Music Camp Scholarship Fund awarded tuition assistance to help some young and old Northern California musicians to attend this weekend’s spring camp near Petaluma.

The scholarships will assist one adult viola player in attending the camp, as well as two young sisters who play the fiddle. These students would not have been able to be at the camp without the fund’s help.

Also, an award was made from the NCBS fund to add to the camp’s new Young Adult Scholarship Fund, which is intended to help impecunious attendees in an age group that is underrepresented at the camp. The support for Young Adults was suggested by NCBS Board of Directors Member Jesse Fichman. There is one recipient this spring.

Thanks to the Generous Donors and to the NCBS Walker Creek Music Camp Scholarship Committee. The fund will soon begin collecting donations to help deserving students who want to attend the upcoming fall camp. Thanks for your support of local bluegrass music education!

Ingrid Noyes runs the camp each spring and fall.
